Welcome to Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre, the North's premier theatre and function centre. Watch a performance or hold a conference/meeting/celebration in comfort and style.

Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre is a $10,250,000 modern multipurpose performing arts centre comprising a proscenium arch theatre, foyer, exhibition space and five multipurpose function rooms providing a combined capacity of 1,500.

Since opening in August 1994 the Centre has established a strong following for community based performing arts, functions and events together with some commercial activity in the form of meetings, conferences and trade expos. DAEC is a significant cultural and community asset that is attended by over 116,000 people each year.

Superbly located only 8km from the heart of the CBD and easily reached from the City via St Georges Road and from the East and West along Bell Street. The Centre has free onsite car parking facilities for 180 cars and is readily serviced by public transport - both rail (Bell Station on the Epping Line) and tram (Bundoora line, No 86, stopping at Bell Street or West Preston line, No 11, stopping at Miller Street).

Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre is a purpose built theatre, conference and exhibition Centre, featuring a spacious entrance foyer, paved courtyard and extensive gardens.

Exhibition Space
Local artists and schools exhibit a variety of artwork including paintings, drawings, pastels and photographs throughout the year.

Gallery hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, and at other times when functions and theatre shows are running.

In the first year of operation there were 73,000 attendances at the Centre. This has increased to 116,600 in the year ended June 2005. The annual visitation rate has been stable for the last three years.

Of the 116,600 annual attendances, 66,880 attend theatre events, 6,800 are performers, musicians or stage crew, and 42,920 attend conferences, meetings, functions, exhibitions or training sessions.

The Centre’s facilities are available for bookings at any time, 24 hours a day, and seven days a week.
