Barney McAll is a multi ARIA award winning pianist and composer who has played on over 100 recordings and has released 11 highly acclaimed solo albums. Barney joined Miles Davis alumni, saxophonist Gary Bartz’s band in 1995 and, as well as remaining to be a member of the Gary Bartz quartet, also performs with the Josh Roseman Unit, Fred Wesley and the JB’s Kurt Rosenwinkel’s “Heartcore” and with his own ensembles ASIO and TRIO FERAL. He co- founded New York’s Groove Collective in 1990 and was nominated for a Grammy award in 2007. He leads his own ensembles “M.O.D.A.S”, “Sylent Running”, “GRAFT” , TRIO FERAL and his most recent ensemble A.S.I.O (Australian Symbiotic Improvisers Orbit) which was nominated as best ensemble at the 2016 Bell Awards. He was awarded the Australia Council Fellowship in 2007 and worked as musical director for Australian vocalist Sia Furler from 2010-2012.
