Garden Dance @ Shrine of Remembrance

Highly acclaimed choreographer Jo Lloyd and a group of Melbourne performers have created a dance work specifcally for the Gardens, which explores the idea that grid systems are used to tame the city and behaviour in public places. They came together to dance, to entertain one another, to be viewers and to be on view. Replacing the city grid for the gardens, they sought nature, unveiling a more complex setting. A public setting for private behaviour. Nature never completely tame, choreography never completely tame. You can also experience a one-off free movement workshop on Wednesday 22 May at 7:30am. Director/ Choreographer: Jo Lloyd Designer: Andrew Treloar Composer: Duane Morrison Producer: Michaela Coventry, Sage Arts Presented by Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and Jo Lloyd. Proudly supported by City of Melbourne....
