2017 marks 30 years since James Reyne released his much-lauded debut solo album. To mark the occasion, he has confirmed two very special live shows - April 28 in Melbourne and May 5 in Sydney. At the same time, the album itself will be reissued on 180g vinyl format. Back in 1986, following the break up of Australian Crawl, James Reyne set upon his solo career, signing to Capitol in the US. Joining forces with producer Davitt Sigerson, James went on to release his 1987 self titled debut album, the record boasting an incredible string of six hit singles: "Fall of Rome", "Hammerhead", "Rip it Up", "Heaven on a Stick", "Motor's Too Fast" and "Always The Way". The album itself was a massive success, peaking at #4 on the ARIA chart, and went on to become one of the 25 highest selling albums in Australia in 1987. Fast forward 30 years later, and James Reyne boasts a reputation as one of the finest singer/songwriters Australia has ever produced. James’ live shows continue to set stages alight and songs from his debut album are evergreens of his live set. Ryan Adams, in Australia last week for tour dates, commented on his obsession with the songwriting of James Reyne and the fact that he couldn’t believe he had missed picking up on ‘Reckless’ across all these years, saying, “I’ve been sending the song to all of my songwriting friends back home." Don’t miss James Reyne live, with full band including keys - Two shows only to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut solo album, featuring all the fan favourites from the album and a selection of other highlights!
