Jazz vocalist and trumpeter Vince Jones is returning to Brisbane Powerhouse on Friday 24 June to celebrate his forth-coming album of original compositions as well as an album of duets with Paul Grabowsky. Jones is excited to return to Brisbane and promises audiences the chance to see his new material as well as the classics. “I’ve dedicated my life to Jazz, she’s a wild and wonderful thing that takes you for a ride, no matter what mood you’re in. Brisbane audiences are always ready for the ride. “Expect to hear ‘Rainbow Cake’ and ‘Oh My Love’ as well as songs from my back catalogue.” 2015 saw Jones return from a lengthy hiatus from touring and recording with two duet shows at Melbourne’s Bennetts Lane with ARIA award-winning pianist Paul Grabowsky. “It was incredible working with my friend Paul again,” said Jones. “We’d last collaborated in the 1980s, so it was a wonderful feeling creating music together again.” Jones and Grabowsky went on to record critically acclaimed album Provenance, which was released in October through ABC Jazz. Jones promises that fans will hear songs from the album during the Brisbane Powerhouse show.
