The Jetty Memorial Theatre, is a cultural icon for the Coffs Coast Region. Originally built in 1927 by the Returned Servicemen's League, opening with a gala social evening and dance. In 1930, the theatre was leased as a cinema - until the late 1970s. 2004 saw the theatre undergo a major refurbishment transforming the building in to a contemporary, intimate performance space suitable for the presentation of a variety of cultural events to the Coffs Community.2007 saw the launch of the Jetty Theatre's annual subscription season which endeavours to present a diverse season of exciting theatrical content to the community. Now in it's fourth year the subscription season, which includes a variety of professional touring product alongside community productions, has become a key highlight of the regions performing arts landscape.As well as providing a season of professional and community theatre, the Jetty Theatre is in the process of establishing JTYouth - Jetty Theatre for Young People, as well as taking an active role in the creation of new work with it's Jetty Emerging Theatre (JET) Program.The auditorium has a proscenium arch stage, a seating capacity of 252, 153 are tiered and 98 are movable stalls seating. This allows the theatre to be used for a wide range of events including plays, musicals, film screenings, product launches and seminars.The theatre has fully equipped lighting and audio systems, wheelchair access, a hearing loop for the hearing impaired, a baby Grand Piano and is climatically controlled.This is a community venue which is used for cultural arts and live theatrical performances in the City.It is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
