Description:

The Theatre is named after the Middleback Ranges situated north west of Whyalla. An excellent choice...for convention organisers wishing to take delegates away from the hustle and bustle of fast-paced city environments to a quieter regional setting to focus on the issues at hand and enjoy the local hospitality....for producers, presenters and promoters to link into Country Arts SA’s network of performing arts centres across South Australia and benefit from collaboration on tours and negotiation of venue costs, performances and box office as a statewide package. An ideal locationWhyalla’s Middleback Theatre is a fully equipped, multi-purpose arts centre and can accommodate a diverse range of conferences, performing arts, film screenings, seminars and product launches. The Foyer contains licensed bar and track lighting and is ideally suited for exhibitions, press conferences and trade displays, cabaret performances and weddings. It can be transformed into a theatre restaurant with seating for up to 120.Nestled between the ocean and the Middleback Ranges and only a short drive from the Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, ‘where the outback meets the sea’, sits on the north-western coast of the Spencer Gulf. A sunny mediterranean climate offers almost year round sunshine to enjoy scuba diving, fishing and arid landscape bushwalks at various locations.Traditionally a city supported by raw material processing and manufacturing, Whyalla is gradually diversifying its economic base. Industries include iron ore mining, steel making, precision engineering, aquaculture and rural production. With 24,000 residents, Whyalla is South Australia’s second largest city. The Middleback Theatre is located within the city, and services approximately 38,000 (population within 100km). It is 380 kilometres north west of Adelaide, via Port Augusta, 75 km away.
