The Regent Theatre and its closest companion, the Plaza Ballroom have endeared themselves to the people of Melbourne since opening as grand picture palaces in 1929. Devastated by fire in 1945, they stand today more lavish and grand than ever.The Regent Theatre has been and continues to be home to many world renowned theatre productions including Disney’s The Lion King, We Will Rock You, and Singin’ in the Rain.
