Mountain Goat Beers @ Union Hotel

Description:

Mountains and mountains of beer don’t usually make sense, but when that beer is mountain goat, it makes all the sense in the world. So to celebrate 15 fabulous years of making sense out of the substance that make most of us nonsensical, the men from mountain goat are taking their beers around the country to share and celebrate the magnificence of beer!

To give the celebrations a bit more kick, the founders of Mountain Goat, Cam Hines and Dave Bonighton have worked up a special brew – the Triple Hightail, which is a stronger, bolder version of the Hightail Ale, the first beer the boys created and released back in 1997. With only 200 cases of this special brew in existence, it is only those that make their way to the celebrations that will be lucky enough to taste the treasure of this specially brewed beer.

Cam and Dave will be joined by their avid army of followers, the aptly named ‘Goat Army’, which will see every event become one of fun, frivolity and of course fermented goodness. Kicking off at the Great Britain Hotel in Richmond Victoria, the founders of Mountain Goat will be offering up their brand new brew and answering all those pesky little questions about how to make beer that good.

The New South Wales party will be held in the heart of Newtown at the Union Hotel on Thursday October 11th, with the boys then goating themselves up to Queensland for a Friday night party on October 12th at the Bitter Suite in New Farm. Those in Hobart that are looking to get a taste of this specialist micro brewed beer can head to the New Sydney Hotel on Tuesday October 16th, while Victorians can party their Wednesday night away with mountains of mountain goat at the Pinnacle in North Fitzroy. Next up on the party train are the lucky locals of Thebarton South Australia who will be able to get their hands on some Mountain Goat Triple Hightail on October 18th at the Wheatsheaf Hotel. Western Australians get the goat as well, with Clancy’s Fish Pub playing host to the boys and their beer on October 19th. Last up on the list for this 10 day celebration is Goat Island Lodge in the Northern Territory, where the wetland locals will be treated to a taste of the boys anniversary brew. Using only natural ingredients, the beer Mountain Goat produces cannot be matched by the big breweries.

The premier micro-brewery goes from strength to strength with a bag of medals under the belt from the Australian International Beer Awards.
