The first taste from The Falls’ debut EP Hollywood is Home - a bittersweet tale of escapism and the search for clarity. The single is a stunning example of how Melinda Kirwinand Simon Rudston-Brown’s vocals perfectly compliment one another to deliver a tragic yet beautiful tale that the duo know all too well. In 2009 The Falls started a weekly residency at the Hotel Hollywood in Surry Hills called Folk Club that was inspired by Communion, run by Mumford and Son’s Ben Lovett, Cherbourg’s Kevin Jones and producer Ian Grimble in the UK. Folk Club is a now a much loved gem in the Sydney music scene, growing steadily over the past three years, Folk Club now happens every Wednesday at the Oxford Arts Factory in Darlinghurst and The Falls have a growing mass of devoted fans in their home town who turn up religiously each week to see them play. As Home is making it's mark on radio waves across the country, The Falls are taking their emotionally fuelled live performances on the road in August supporting UK troubadour Passenger on his national tour.
