In 2010, the RocKwiz Team took to the road and played thirty-five shows in nineteen venues across this wide brown land. A rotating cavalcade of stars surprised and delighted packed houses from Hobart to Darwin, from Perth to Byron Bay. Contestants from the audience demonstrated amazing rock knowledge and performed Karaoke with the RocKwiz Orkestra. The critics raved … and so did the punters …
The night really “blew us away”. We haven’t laughed and smiled so much in ages. – Vic and Di, Port Pirie
We had a fabulous time - even better than the TV show as it lasts for 3 hours. – Deb, Dapto
My mum went to the RocKwiz concert in Toowoomba
she said it was the best night of her life. – Daniel, Toowoomba
In 2012, they’re doing it again and they can’t wait to come to a venue near you! The ‘RocKwiz - Some Kind Of Genius Tour’ will play in state capitals and selected regional cities (including sacred musical sites like Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Festival Hall in Melbourne) across Australia.
Expect the unexpected when the RocKwiz team unleashes its unique brand of energetic musical magic. High profile stars and up and coming artists will rub shoulders with contestants selected from the audience. The ‘RocKwiz – Some Kind Of Genius Tour’ is an extension of the television show, but bigger, bolder and braver. More guests! More songs! More questions! Freed from the constraints of a forty-minute television program recorded in a pub, watch the cast cut loose and revel in the freedom of the big stage.
The RocKwiz Team has been together, completely intact, since 2004, making what Andrew Denton recently called “Australia’s most beloved music show”. Julia Zemiro, the hottest TV hostess in the country. Brian Nankervis, the perfect co-host and ringmaster. The extraordinarily talented and experienced RocKwiz Orkestra and of course … the human scoreboard, the housewife’s choice, Dugald.
Roll up! Roll up! In fact, Rock up! For the 2012 ‘Rockwiz – Some Kind Of Genius Tour’ … Julia, Brian, the Rockwiz Orkestra and Dugald, legendary guests, curly questions, rock and roll trivia, rocking riffs and of course, rock brains from the audience who will amaze you with their knowledge and thrill you with their karaoke skills.
Don’t miss out. As Mark and Michael said …
Wondered how a 30 min TV show could be translated into a three hour live event. Without spoiling it for others, don't worry. Your money is well spent. Brian N could warm up a dentists' convention. The Orchestra live exceeds expectations, and I'd crawl over broken glass (and in fact, I think I did in my 20's) to hear some of the guest artists. Totally unfake. Totally fun. Mark from West Kentish
Rockwiz is so inclusive, it reminds me of a large family game of cricket at Christmas time. Everyone gets a turn to bat and bowl. You can't get out on the first ball. You have to run if you hit the ball, hit catches after 3 goes and you can only bowl underarm to the kids and nanna. – Michael from Canberra
