Brisbane’s delightfully quirky, folk-pop collective Pear & The Awkward Orchestra have just announced an east coast tour in February to celebrate the film clip for latest single ‘Castle’ – her cutest visual offering yet. The 2011 release of Pear’s debut record ‘Smocks!’ earned widespread acclaim throughout the country, receiving ABC National’s Album of the Week, Indie Release of the Week in Rave Magazine, features from radio broadcasters 4ZZZ, RRR, PBS and 2SER, and notable support from triple j program Roots ‘N All for standout single ‘Oh Katrina’. Gracious reviews stemmed from her Australian tour in the second half of the year, showcasing Pear as an undeniable emerging talent. Having just returned from a solo expedition playing dates in the United States and Canada, Pear has gathered the talents of a marvelous new Awkward Orchestra for February’s tour - the perfect start to an exciting year. The oh-so adorable ‘Castle’ will be available for viewing online to coincide with the beginning of the tour.
