Hitting the country for their maiden Australian tour, a triumvirate of techno auteurs is set to make waves on Antipodean dancefloors this September.

Robag Wruhme (Germany; Freude Am Tanzen/Kompact)

A prolific, beloved member of the German techno community, producer/DJ Gabor Schablitzki has been releasing music since the late ‘90s under a wealth of aliases, including DJ Robag, Die Dub Rolle, Machiste and notably the Wighomy Brothers project with Sören Bodner.

The project was used as an outlet for some of his most popular productions, namely ‘Wurz + Blosse’, ‘Wombat’’ and ‘Moppal Kiff’. His 2008 ‘Metawuffmischfelge’ mix CD was also an elaborately layered minimal techno gem and a favourite among fans.

Schablitzki’s latest work is a delicately-constructed longplayer on Kompakt titled ‘Thora Vukk’ that was released in January this year. The album has been heralded for its sensual atmosphere – something more akin to a love ballad, than a club banger. That said, when Schablitzki enters a nightclub, Robag Wruhme always comes out to play.

Tommy Four Seven (Germany; CLR)

Some artists are followers; others prefer to sketch out their own sound. Tommy Four Seven is among an select group of accomplished new school techno producers crafting a new sound from concrete breeze blocks, pumping pistons and his washing machine’s 3/4 cyclic pattern, creating his trademark deep and uncompromising sounds.

Having cut his teeth playing at London institutions Turnmills, fabric and The End, Tommy took his sound to Berlin and wasted little time in garnering a sizeable following, while getting nods from the best in the biz, signing cuts to Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe and Chris Liebing’s CLR.

An impressive example of this extraordinary production ethos is his upcoming debut artist album ‘Primate’ release on CLR this March. It doesn’t take Einstein to see 2011 is Tommy Four Seven’s year.

GUTI Live – ‘Patio de Juegos’ Album Tour
(Germany via Argentina; Desolat)

Argentinean-born Guti releases his inaugural album on Desolat – the label that has given his echoingly hypnotic jazz-infused house sound a stable platform over the past 18 months. ‘Patio de Juegos’, which translates as ‘Playground’, is a wonderful multi-genre journey that showcases lashings of his ever-present South American heritage infused with incredibly intricate and perfectly simple house structures that give the whole album its almost ‘child at play’ ethos that is rarely found in electronic music. His breathtaking live show has been spellbinding audiences throughout three continents, now it’s our turn!
