Diefenbach returns to The Butterfly Club to launch his sophomore LP release, Missing Person. Missing Person was co-produced by Powderfinger's Darren Middleton and is a fragile, raw and at times, playfully macabre, offering.
Diefenbach has picked up a Green Room Award for Best Original Songs in Cabaret, Best Cabaret at Melbourne Fringe 08, and a Matilda Award nomination for his work in Lady of the House of Love with Sandro Collarelli.
The Age newspaper, likening him to prolific Australian acts Tim Minchin and Eddie Perfect, describes Diefenbach as a “pathological chronicler of the human condition." Themes of identity, and the many and varied masks we wear in day-to-day life, resonate throughout.
Jake has performed alongside some of Australia's most iconic performers, including Kate Miller-Heidke, Paul Capsis, Katie Noonan and Boston-based punk duo, The Dresden Dolls.

“Here’s the tip: the boys at the Butterfly Club know their talent. They were the first local promoters to present the debut shows of the then unknowns, Tim Minchin and Eddie Perfect. Making it a sweet trifecta is Brisbane-based, androgynous-voiced Diefenbach.”
Lily Bragge, The Age, 10/01/2009
"Sweet devil Diefenbach has the looks and voice of one of the heavenly host, but his songs explore themes that would make Hades proud."
Daniel G. Taylor, Stagewhispers.com, February 2011
“The Brisbane-based singer-songwriter, with the dimpled smile and the sweet androgynous voice, had the audience completely entranced”
