The Barons of Tang are a band that defies categorization and recommended used by dates on supermarket products. They eat music and spit notes. They have toured all over the world with nothing but a dream to carry them and a collective bruise to keep them warm. They write music that is both obscure and eternal with themes of dirt and the underdog. The Barons of Tang are, in fact, a mini orchestra with the taste of blood on their lips and the devil in their hips and they will not go quietly into the night. Mixing Klezmer and Balkan feels with the jagged edges of punk and whatever’s lying around the kitchen, these guys are making waves in the duck pond. The Barons are delighted to announce they will be joining forces with one of the worlds most daring one man-bands ‘Delaney Davidson’ (NZ) for a very special run of shows in January. Part man part wheel, Delaney Davidson is part wandering minstrel, part travelling salesman. One hand holds a small brown suitcase, his trade, his ghost orchestra, the other holds his guitar. One foot firmly in the Blues Trash corner of the ring, the other on the road, you could say Delaney sees music as he sees geography, and that although he has certain preferences, in fact all territories are up for grabs. Ireland, Germany, Italy, Brazil, UK, Switzerland, Mexico, Austria, Romania, Belgium, Holland, Russia, France, USA, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand, all destinations on the ten year Solo Tour with which Davidson has turned homelessness into a success of its own. The Baron of Tang and Delaney Davidson will be tearing up the East coast to celebrate the release of Delaney Davidson’s new album “Bad Luck Man” out through Voodoo Rhythm Records.
