Popfrenzy are thrilled to announce the Australian return of Best Coast in January and February 2012.
In 2010 Best Coast released Crazy For You (Popfrenzy Records) and in an instant became the band of the summer. Feeding into the good vibrations of Californian sunshine and carefree attitudes, Best Coast aka Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno, were named NME’s #1 new band of 2010, they were included in Pitchfork’s Top 50 albums of 2010, in fact, Best Coast made pretty much every BEST OF 2010 list you can find.
Catching the eye and ear of Drew Barrymore, this year the star made her music video directorial debut creating a celebrity-heavy clip for the album track Our Deal (video below).
After a year of globetrotting and collaborating with heavyweights such as Johnny Marr, Weezer, Vampire Weekend and Wavves, Best Coast return to our shores for the summer sun, playing the Big Day Out 2012 and two intimate side shows in Sydney and Melbourne. This time around, Best Coast return as a four-piece, expanding and developing their warm, fuzzy and oh-so-ever summery tunes on the live stage.
Perennially charming, Best Coast implores their listener to do very little other than frolic in the surf, sip beer and soak up the warm rays of the sun. And that’s exactly what we will do.
