With the announcement of the impending “Last Drinks with Mistress Maybe” East Coast Tour, Oceanics front man Elliot Weston could be forgiven for thinking tour names were driving his destiny.

With the bands initial tour being entitled “Get Friendly Mistress Maybe” the enigmatic front man found he himself to be quite the romancer, linking with an American beauty. Turning the clock forward to the end of August sees the target of his affections forced to return to her native homeland and Oceanics left having last drinks in her honour on their “Last Drinks with Mistress Maybe” tour.

Love, rest and play have taken a backseat however since Oceanics return to Queensland. The four piece have shared the stage with the likes of The Grates, Sparkadia, The Holidays, Die! Die! Die! and Last Dinosaurs and performances at The Oneway Project (Surfers Paradise Festival), 4 Walls Festival and the upcoming Bondstock featuring Bag Raiders and Tonite Only.

Further the lead single “Romancer” from their recently released EP “Get Friendly Mistress Maybe” was described as “a seriously fun tune” by triple J’s Dom Alesso. The track has since secured the Snyc for the Surfers Paradise Festival television advertising and further the second single $12 Specs securing a slice of Fox 8’s new series SLiDES.

The “Last Drinks with Mistress Maybe Tour” will see the band test out tracks from their forthcoming new EP on the tour which commences on 12th August with British India at the Spotted Cow Toowoomba and continues on through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
