Description:

Blackchords are back on Australian soil after a succession of dates over three months in the UK including Brighton’s Great Escape Festival and Liverpool Sound City Festival and are wasting no time in getting straight back into it with the release of their brand spanking new single ‘As Night Falls’.

Written for the new Australian suspense drama ‘Blame’ which was released at the Melbourne International Film Festival, the song is a beautiful, filmic track that perfectly closes the film. ‘As Night Falls’ is available digitally through Valleyarm.

October is set to be a huge month with Blackchords just announced as one of the showcase acts on the One Movement Festival in Perth, October 7 to 10, followed by the most sort after show of the year, Friday October 29th the band will open for Jet and Powderfinger at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, for what will be Powderfinger’s last ever Melbourne show.

“The bridge of the new single As Night Falls was magic and the band gave the crowd a glimpse of unknowable and insurmountable emotion”. Inpress Magazine, 25/8/10

"Soaking up everything from Nick Drake and Ryan Adams to The Smiths and The Cure, Blackchords ring out from their musical sponge of influences deep and reflective music that is at once arrestingly relevant as well as an antidote to everyday life." – The Great Escape Magazine, May 2010
