Singer/Songwriter, Ben Kweller was born in San Francisco, CA in 1981. Kweller was exposed to music at a very early age.
By his teenage years, Kweller had released two albums and EP with his band Radish, not beginning his solo career until the age of 19. His heartland hooks and folksy flourishes made fans out of several artists, and Kweller soon found himself touring with the likes of Juliana Hatfield, Guster, Kristin Hersh, and Evan Dando.
Since then, Ben Kweller has released a four full length albums with 2009's Changing Horses embracing a more country style, employing a pedal steel guitarist and furthering the songwriter's musical experimentation.
Beginning with his first record, Sha Sha, released in 2002, Kweller’s albums have always been stylistically restless, moving from indie rock to ballads to anti-folk to melodic rock, often from song to song.
As influences, he has cited artists ranging from Buddy Holly, to Sonic Youth, Pavement, the Beatles and Bob Dylan.
Ben Kweller is also performing at Great Southern Blues Festival Saturday 2nd October, Batemans Bay and One Movement Festival
Saturday 9th October, Fremantle, Perth.
