Brisbane chanteuse Carry Nation is set to release her debut album Like a River Does through El Niño El Niño, with distribution by Inertia, on 19 March 2010.
To celebrate the release, Carry Nation will launch her stunning record on Sunday 21 March at The Troubadour in Brisbane, supported by Matthew Vale (Lion Island) and Opals & Poole, followed by Sunday 28 March at The Wesley Anne in Melbourne, supported by McKisko.
Carry Nation is the moniker of Brisbane artist Jessie Warren. Recorded in Brisbane City’s iconic Old Museum, Like a River Does teams Warren’s delicate vocals and guitar strumming with brass, strings and percussion. The result is a dreamy, honest and eloquent album.
Signed to Brisbane-based label El Niño El Niño, Carry Nation is label mates with McKisko and Tom Cooney.
Having spent several years honing her craft in hometown Brisbane, Carry Nation has built a reputation for her haunting live shows and ability to transfix her audience. She has also had the pleasure of performing with Darren Hanlon, Laura Jean, Washington and McKisko.
