Description:

What an extraordinary treat this is for lovers of the finest classic pop and rock ever made! Roger Hodgson from Supertramp and 10cc will together perform on a double bill at theatre sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne. Both bands are in Australia for Bluesfest’s much anticipated 21st Anniversary festival held in Byron Bay over Easter 2010.

“The highest compliment that Roger can be paid is that he probably sounds better live today than in the recording studio more than a generation ago.” - Evening Standard – London, Review from Royal Albert Concert.

Roger Hodgson is recognised as one of the most gifted composers, songwriters and lyricists of our time! As the legendary voice, writer and arranger of most of Supertramp’s greatest hits that led to more than 60 million record sales, he gave us amazingly enduring songs like: “Give a Little Bit,” “Dreamer,” “It's Raining Again”, “Take the Long Way Home”, “The Logical Song,” “Breakfast In America,” “Fool’s Overture” and so many others that have become the sound track of our lives. Hodgson co-founded the progressive rock band Supertramp in 1969 and was with them for 14 years. He wrote and sang most of the classic hits that brought Supertramp worldwide acclaim. Roger recently received 2 awards from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) for his songs being in the top played songs in their repertory, proving that they have indeed stood the test of time.

“There are few vocalists instantly recognizable from the first few bars of a song but Roger Hodgson is certainly one of that unique group. The singer/songwriter of Supertramp, his voice is as unmistakable as the distinct keyboard sound of his early hits.” - The Times- London, Review from Royal Albert Concert

You don’t get much more “classic” than this! 10cc may well be described as a tongue-in-cheek British art-pop band that found international success in the 1970s, but that’s just part of the story. With 26 million albums sold, and perennial hits like “Donna,” “I'm Not in Love," “Rubber Bullets,” and "The Things We Do for Love,” it soon becomes clear that 10cc are one of Britain's most original and innovative pop and rock bands. Noted for their studio polish, advanced musicianship, impeccable vocal performances, and clever lyrics that contributed to a style later dubbed "art pop," 10cc first became successful for their classic singles that often parodied classic rock styles or satirised modern life. The band's original incarnation—a quartet comprised of Mancunians Lol Crème, Kevin Godley, Eric Stewart, and Graham Gouldman—10cc earned critical respect and public acclaim for many of their singles which showcased the band members' talents as pop musicians, singers, and songwriters while incorporating studio techniques and instrumental virtuosity more commonly associated with the English progressive art-rock bands of the same era. The current line-up includes long time members Graham Gouldman, Rick Fenn and Paul Burgess, joined by Mick Wilson and Mike Stevens. Bluesfest is extremely proud to present 10cc for the first time.

To Rogerfan2009, poor post mate. 10cc were outstanding, just brilliant, and Roger was too. I grew and choofed up in the 70's both Supertramp and 10cc are treasures, the nite was brilliant and in fact highlighted by 10cc.

I went to the Roger Hodgson concert last night at the Palais Theatre and totally enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Roger played for an hour and a half with such hits as Logical Song, Soapbox Opera and Fools Overture. The only disappointing aspect wa... (more)

They shouldn't be allowed to use the name 10cc - after all, there's only one original member in the current line up and that's the bass player Graham Gouldman. The other members NEVEr appeared or played on any of the groups recordings. This is a rip-... (more)

I was so fortunate to be able to see Roger in Canada this past November. I was blown away by his performance. His voice is even better today than it was 30 years ago. You owe it to yourself to see the voice and heartbeat of Supertramp. Roger so... (more)

He is one of the legendary songwriters of all time - Fool's Overture is one of my favorite songs - what an epic masterpiece. It will be so cool hearing the actual composer sing his own songs.

I saw Roger in concert last year at the Royal Albert Hall and I tell you his voice is better now that it was when he was with Supertramp 25 years ago.
