This November – coinciding with Triple J’s Aus Music Week – OLD MAN RIVER & his band will play three special shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, to celebrate the recent completion of his sophomore album, simply and powerfully titled ‘Trust’.
After some time away from the Australian live scene OLD MAN RIVER recently made surprise appearances, with a killer show and new 5-piece band, at the Big Sound (Brisbane) and One Movement (Perth) music industry festivals. These events offered a glimpse of the exciting new OLD MAN RIVER material – an absorbing blend of sitars, electric guitars, tabla’s and a natural evolution of the ‘east meets west’ themes that made ‘Good Morning’ such an outstanding debut album.
OLD MAN RIVER will use these intimate shows to introduce his new band to Australian audiences, up-close and personal. The band will be playing music from the brand new album as well as a selection of tracks from his debut and beyond. OLD MAN RIVER welcomes two amazing new artists onto these one-off shows with Boy & Bear and Little Scout both joining the celebration.
‘Trust’ was recorded during 2009 in Sydney, Tel Aviv and Mumbai and music from the album is currently being poked and prodded in a series of reinterpretations from the likes of DJ Katalyst and Luke Steele. It follows OLD MAN RIVER’s debut album, ‘Good Morning’ which topped charts in Japan and Italy and was released in more than 20 countries worldwide.
