Melbourne’s Blackchords are home sweet home after a successful string of dates in the UK and France and to celebrate, they are getting straight back into it here in Australia by releasing their second single, ‘Pretty Little Thing’, from their highly acclaimed self-titled debut album, released earlier this year.
Blackchords have been touted in the UK as being up there in terms of talent with Australia’s most famous exports, AC/DC and Wolfmother, Silverchair. The band were based in Paris during September playing a sold out show in the French town of Nantes, with the French crowd singing along to the band’s single ‘At World’s End’ during the encore. The final show at L ‘International in Paris was just mind blowing, playing to a full house and getting two encores and as the support act, that’s unusual. In October the band relocated to London where they have been playing shows in some of the best-known venues in town. Last Tuesday night, Oct 13 the band played the Barfly in Camden with Yves Klein Blue as support, again to a packed crowd!
The UK media have jumped on Blackchords band wagon with the video for ‘At World’s End’ being added to the MTV2 & NME TV play lists, the band were Kerrang Radio’s featured artists of the week with Alex Baker from Kerrang saying… “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Blackchords!”
