Singer-songwriter Carus Thompson has had a fantastic 2009. His new album Creature Of Habit received a great response from punters and critics alike, enabling three tours of Europe and two Australian tours.
To finish up the year he's performing a handful of intimate solo performances in NSW, before travelling to Victoria to perform backed by a full five-piece band (including some of the True Believers). The Victorian shows will be the first time in over twelve months that Carus has set out in full band mode. Fellow Euro traveller Rob Sawyer will be playing the Victorian-leg alongside Carus, opening all shows.
There is also a special show in Adelaide @ The Trinity Sessions.
Carus will be taking 3 weeks between the NSW and Victorian legs of the tour to play a 13 date tour across Europe too.
As a solo artist and with his three piece backing band ‘The True Believers’, Carus Thompson has sold over 30,000 CDs independently, supported luminaries such as Dave Matthews, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson, John Butler and The Waifs and been a regular at many of the major festivals.
Having toured the world for the last ten years, Carus continues to garner substantial followings in the U.K, Germany, France and Australia. Carus’ latest album Creature Of Habit, his most acclaimed offering to date, sees him leave The True Believers behind, setting out to make a record resting on one foundation – the strength of his song writing. Produced by Greg Arnold and mixed in Nashville by Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Bob Evans), Creature Of Habit reviews have been stellar worldwide:
“A fine release from an impressive Australian talent, 4 Stars”
Rave Magazine, AUS
“4 Stars”
Babysue.com, Tennessee, USA
“A sterling slice of folk rock”
Irish World, UK
“His is a class act, A+”
Adelaide Independent, AUS
“one of the Australia’s finest independent singer-songwriters”
TNT Mag, London, UK
A recent 35 show European tour saw Carus playing to over 2000 people on the Germany leg alone. His most successful European trip yet, Carus has fostered a European fan base via thrice yearly tours.
Carus’ upcoming End Of Year tour will include another trip back to Europe, where he will play shows in England, Scotland, France and Germany before returning for his Victorian dates.
