Renny Field 'The Arena' Album Launch Tour Renny Field @ Railway Friendly Bar (The Rails)
Monday 7 Dec 2009
Tour Name:
Renny Field 'The Arena' Album Launch Tour
Supporting Artist(s):
N/A
Description:
Following a heavy international touring schedule in 2008, Renny Field returned home to complete his third studio album, ‘The Arena’, due for release through MGM in November this year. Having announced his arrival on the Australian music scene with his debut album ‘Make Believe’ in December 2003, Field followed up in June 2005 with his second LP, ‘26 Reasons’, and has since remained a regular fixture on the local live circuit. Either with his full band or in an intimate solo acoustic setting, Renny’s performances are characterised by the honesty in his writing and the strength of his delivery, the sense of story ever-present throughout.
With two well-received albums to his name, Field has toured extensively, both at home and abroad, and has shared the stage with some of this country’s finest artists, all the while continuing to build a successful career as an independent singer-songwriter. In 2008, he performed some 30 shows in 7 different countries across Europe, as well as securing a solo residency in Phuket, Thailand. He has previously played at world-renowned venues abroad including London’s 100 Club and CBGB’s in New York, not to mention the occasional festival appearance and even a mad dash to Fiji for a brief cameo on reality TV.
His most comprehensive offering to date, ‘The Arena’ presents fourteen self-produced tracks ranging from heartfelt acoustic folk to rich cinematic pop, and featuring a selection of local artists with whom Field has collaborated over the past few years. Tales of love and loss, a celebration of life’s beauty and its failings, with an unmistakable sense of hope that permeates throughout. It might have been a long time coming, but it’s certainly been worth the wait…
