“Grafton Primary follow up successful attempts by countrymen Pendulum and
Sneaky Sound System to break into the UK and judging by their debut performance at London’s Cargo,
they have the spirit, the energy and the music to follow in their footsteps”.
– Zap! Bang! Magazine UK
“Make sure you catch this superb local band on the verge of tremendous commercial success –
before we lose them to overseas travel and huge venues.” –The Brag
“...unmistakably brilliant.” – Onion Magazine
With their single ‘SOS Hello’ recently featured as iTunes Single Of The Week,
GRAFTON PRIMARY return home from the UK with their heads up,
fit and ready for their last Australian headline tour for 2009.
Supporting Grafton Primary on the road will be rising Sydney wunderkinds CASSETTE KIDS
who come fresh off a tour with Lily Allen. They’re sure to get the party started armed
with a new single in August from their anticipated debut album.
Guest acts and djs are to be announced soon.
‘Records For The Righteous’ is being featured heavily on US College radio where their album Eon
debuted as #1 Most Added on the RPM/CMJ chart followed by a #35 debut on the same chart
this week. “Records” is also the follow up single to “All Stars” in the UK where the band recently
launched the release of Eon through Republic of Music (Bloc Party, Fatboy Slim, Hot Chip)
with a show at Cargo in London and another in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Cargo launch was well received by fans and industry heads alike and inspired reviews like
this one from Zap! Bang! Magazine: “...with an album out next month and a successful first show
in the UK... they have every chance to be as popular here as in their native country.”
The electronic rockers continue their international touring mission later in the
year with a second UK/Europe trip, followed by US West Coast dates
and the Sonofilia Festival in Mexico City.
Grafton Primary are proving to be one of the bands to watch in the new wave of
antipodean electronic music reaching international shores. Make sure you see the band
before we have to share their magic with the rest of the world...
