Ladies & gents, two of San Diego’s finest singer/songwriters are returning to our shores this May/June to coincide with the release of their respective new albums.
Charming … witty … and armed with a crackin’ new album, STEVE POLTZ is one helluva songwriter. From former founder of U.S. cult college band The Rugburns to co-writer of Jewel’s biggest hit “You Were Meant For Me”, the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter is back in fine form with his new melodic offering, ‘Traveling’. Released this May through Code One/MGM, Steve’s third solo album sees him at his storytelling/songwriting best, sucking the dear listener into the Poltz vortex. Set to embark on his eighth Australian visit, be sure to catch him live on the Bob Evans tour this May or with Gregory Page in June. Oh, and make sure you pick up the ‘Traveling’ companion cd ‘Unraveling’, a separate disc containing 11 tracks - for that extra Poltz hit – available only at the shows.
Fellow San Diegan GREGORY PAGE is also a critically acclaimed artist himself. A former member of The Rugburns, the singer/songwriter and producer has toured with the likes of Bob Dylan, Chris Issak, Jason Mraz and more… It was during Gregory’s Australian tour with Jason Mraz in 2008 when he found himself penning songs in a 200 year old Cemetery in St Kilda, resulting in the beautiful new album “Bird In A Cage”. Released in May through Code One/MGM, ‘Bird In A Cage’ (Page’s nineteenth album!) also features a live track recorded with Jason Mraz at Brisbane’s Tivoli in 2008.
