LOVE POLICE and BILLIONS AUSTRALIA have extreme joy to announce some very special shows featuring their good friends, THE BLACK KEYS, GOMEZ and DR. DOG sharing the same rockin' stage. Prior to, and sliding off the back of the New Year’s festivals, the bands will join forces in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney's Luna Park and finishing up at the recently revamped Palais Theatre in Melbourne.
THE BLACK KEYS will also be performing select and special shows in Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Coffs Harbour and Wollongong to get the summer holiday hot spots truly shaking. The band has treated regional fans to their sounds from their first tour, and it is time to celebrate. All shows except Coffs Harbour and Wollongong will feature DR.DOG.
THE BLACK KEYS are beloved in this country. Tearing up our highways and flight paths since 2003, the band has gone from small clubs to selling out theatres and large rooms from Darwin to Hobart. Their dirty rock and soul sound has won them a loyal and passionate audience that continues to grow. Five albums into their career, these show will be the defining moment of their local career so far. Expect grandeur, expect electricity, expect the sweetest garage sounds you have ever heard on the big stage.
When GOMEZ first hit our shores back in 2000, they were 5 bright young things from Southport in the UK fresh off the back of winning the coveted Mercury Music Prize. Well they have gathered adoring fans in their seven tours since then and now reside all our the planet, but continue to make the cohesive yet ramshackle sound of a fight in a music shop that we all love. Their live shows are legendary displays of energy and celebration as the bands' interaction with each other and the audience bring a beautiful warmth to rooms large and small.
DR. DOG are back to build on their introductory visit late in 2007. Hot on the heels of their new release ‘Fate’, the Philadelphia 5 piece bring the retro sound with the modern touches that makes them the musician's band the world over. Try and not sway and sing along while watching these lads dish it up on stage. Trading instruments, dance moves and vocals like a swap meet dance party, these boys bring the sonic love.
People, people, people....brace yourselves for the good times.
