After the anticipated release of her third studio album, ‘As The Sun Falls’ and a 6-show tour alongside pop legend, Toni Childs, JESS MCAVOY has announced her own national tour in celebration of the release.
‘As The Sun Falls’ was recorded with ARIA Award winning producer, Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art Of Fighting), giving the album an accessible and well-polished sound. The album is a pure example of JESS MCAVOY’s unique song writing and passionate playing. ‘As The Sun Falls’ is her best work yet and is the perfect follow-up to her 2006 release ‘Into The Dark’. ‘Into The Dark’ heralded album of the week, was described as “an album to treasure” by Beat Magazine and proclaimed by The Age, “Let me make it easier for you...forget the rest, JESS MCAVOY is one of the best. 4½ stars.”
Playing in pubs and venues around Australia since the age of 16, JESS MCAVOY soon gained rave reviews for her emotive and energetic performances, and melodic hook-laden indie/pop tunes. Since relocating to Melbourne from Western Australia, JESS MCAVOY has played a long list of well received headline shows and has toured alongside greats such as Ani Di Franco, The Waifs, Clare Bowditch, Pete Murray, Kate Ceberano, Ember Swift, Tim Rogers and Tex Perkins. Jess’ recent tour to Los Angeles and New York saw her amaze crowds at iconic venues including The Bitter End, CBGB’s, Arlene’s Grocery and the Knitting Factory.
