Melbourne indie champions and recent UK deportees British India will embark on their final run of Australian shows for 2008, before taking a well deserved break. It’s been ‘no fucking disco’ for the lads who, on their first international trip were detained at Heathrow

Airport for six hours after a 23-hour flight, before being sent home under armed guard and with an alcohol ban to boot. Their crime? The wrong visas.

Of course our heroes returned to the UK the following week to play their sold-out showcase in London and are now negotiating a UK release for their second album Thieves.

British India have been touring solidly since July this year to promote their latest album Thieves, which was nominated for Best Independent Release in the ARIA Awards, and debuted at #5 on the ARIA album chart and #1 on the AIR Album charts.

Beginning this weekend in NSW the aptly named ‘This Ain’t No Fucking Disco’ Tour runs nonstop from now until New Years Eve when the band draw the curtain for 2008 at the massive ‘Purple Sneakers’ NYE Party in Sydney.
