Description:

Music legend Jackson Browne is returning to Australia. Andrew McManus Presents is proud to present one of music’s most influential songwriters, Jackson Browne, with full band, live in concert!

JACKSON BROWNE has been described as the ultimate LA singer-songwriter.

Over the course of three decades, he has continued to write and record songs that are passionately crafted and that resonate emotionally, politically and spiritually - songs that have touched the hearts and minds of countless fans worldwide.

Jackson releases his 13th studio album “Time The Conqueror” on September 20. It’s his first new music in six years and, not surprisingly, is eagerly-awaited.

And with the album, Jackson commences a world tour, which will include Australia! He will play a mix of theatres and outdoor concerts nationally in February/March 2009. Tickets are on sale Friday September 5.

Accompanying Jackson on the road is his band of fifteen years: Kevin McCormick (bass), Mark Goldenberg (guitars), Mauricio Lewak (drums) and Jeff Young (keyboards, backing vocals), plus vocalists Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills. It will be his first tour with his band here in five years. With a brand new album to showcase, plus a career full of classic songs like ‘Running On Empty’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Load Out’, ‘Stay’, ‘Late For The Sky’, ‘Rock Me on The Water”, “Doctor My Eyes’ and ‘Take It Easy’ to draw from, Jackson is set to reaffirm why he is one of music’s most influential and enduring artists.

Fans can experience the more intimate environment of theatre shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, whilst special guests at the larger venues will be Toni Childs and Richard Clapton, Tim Freedman (solo) will open all concerts.

Best known for her hits ‘Don't Walk Away’, ‘Many Rivers To Cross’ and ‘Stop Your Fussing’, Toni Childs hit the big time in the late Eighties, when her first album ‘Union’ sold more than 500,000 copies in Australia. After a string of further hits, Toni succumbed to a rare illness and has spent most of the past decade recovering. She is thrilled to be back with a wonderful new album ‘Keep The Faith’ (released August 16) which showcases her trademark husky vocals and is looking forward to reconnecting with Australian audiences again.

Two of Australia’s great singer-songwriters and most popular live performers Richard Clapton and Tim Freedman will be valued additions to what is set to be a memorable night of great music.

I saw him at the Red Rocks ampitheater in Colorado (http://www.redrocksonline.com/)in the early 90s. David Lindley (http://www.davidlindley.com/)was the supporting act and it was a memorable show. Those early hits still sound great. It would be great... (more)
