Internationally acclaimed hit maker Leo Sayer is on tour to select venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide from September for "An Evening With Leo Sayer", in celebration of the release of his first Australian produced studio album, Don't Wait Until Tomorrow.
"An Evening With Leo Sayer" showcases the evolution of an icon as you have never heard him before. Signature tunes are beautifully re-interpreted utilizing a 25 piece band with a large string section, upright bass and percussion and wind instruments, to create a lush sound and completely engaging groove.
Audiences will be captivated by Leo's extraordinary vocal range and the re-worked classics - Thunder In My Heart, Long Tall Glasses, One Man Band, When I Need You, You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, Raining in My Heart, The Show Must Go On, Orchard Road, Giving It All Away and the album's title track.
Leo collaborated with Garth Porter on the new treatments and enlisted globally awarded orchestral composer and arranger Bill Motzing, to add his magic to the string arrangements for the album and live performances.
Leo said "We formed a super group to record the album and some of these musicians are on this tour. I'm very excited to be performing with such a large ensemble and in venues which are special to me. The State Theatre is near where we recorded this album and I love singing there to a home audience. We recorded the 2006 Live album at the Hamer Hall in Melbourne and Adelaide was one of the reasons I first fell in love with Australia, on the Breakout Tour in 1974!"
The pop music icon and producer of 20 international hits and 15 albums now calls Australia home after relocating from the UK in 2005. He remains very much in demand internationally, commuting regularly for performances and will become an Australian citizen in early 2009.
An Evening with Leo Sayer is your invitation to be magically caressed by a world class entertainer on a unique journey spanning almost 4 decades of his musical milestones.
