They’ve been described as one of the biggest contemporary metal bands in the world, and if Children of Bodom’s sold out Australian tour of 2005 is any indication, then this claim holds more than a grain of truth. The Finnish quintet will return to Australia, and this time include New Zealand, for a run of highly anticipated shows on the back of their sixth release, Blooddrunk.
Featuring charismatic front-man Alexi Laiho, the band will showcase their unique mix of melodic death metal, killer riffs, guitar solos and keyboards to their rapidly growing fan base.
Children of Bodom have notched up a string of impressive achievements in their career. They’ve featured on the line up of prestigious overseas tours recently, including the Unholy Alliance Tour with Slayer and Lamb of God and 2008’s US Gigantour, and are set to perform at the upcoming Monsters of Rock and Wacken Open Air. Four of their albums have reached gold, platinum or number 1 chart positions throughout Europe and their two DVDs and live CD have proven to be must-haves among fans.
Vocalist / lead guitarist Alexi Laiho was voted World’s Best Guitarist in Metahammer’s 2006 music poll. In a frightening incident that could have ended his guitar playing, he broke his left shoulder after sliding down a bowling alley but rapidly bounced back, with an almost fully healed shoulder, and resumed his role within the band in a true professional manner.
Blooddrunk sees Children of Bodom returning to the heaviness of previous releases. It’s described as being ‘full of melodic guitars, amazing solos and of course the characteristic voice of Laiho’ with tracks threatening to ‘burn your head and break your bones.’
Just Say Rock is proud to present Children of Bodom's upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand for what promises to be a breathtaking and pulsating set of shows. Get ready to get Blooddrunk with Children Of Bodom!
