Description:

Due to the recent amendments of the entertainment visa requirements set by the Australian Immigration Department, Norwegian black metallers Mayhem will not be able to get their visas approved in time for their scheduled Australian and NZ tour dates. As a result, tour promoter Just Say Rock, in conjunction with Mayhem, has decided to postpone the tour to later this year.

All parties are now working on new dates for the Mayhem tour. The new dates will be released ASAP. You can get a refund if you want it, by returning it to the point of sale to get the face value refunded. When Mayhem toured Australia in 2002, they sold out major venues across the country including Melbourne’s Hi Fi Bar and Sydney’s Metro Theatre.
In 2008, Norway’s founders of Black Metal, the ever-changing foursome with a most decorated and intriguing history, will return to Australia as a much stronger unit.
Vocalist Attila Csihar, who replaced their legendary vocalist Dead in 1993 after his suicide but left not long after, re-joins Hellhammer, Necrobutcher and Blasphemer and reinstates Mayhem to their career defining glory days of the early to mid 1990s.
And with their two acclaimed album releases since the tour, they continue to progress sonically. 2004’s Chimara saw Mayhem revisit their minimal and brutal original sounds while most recent release, 2007’s Ordo Ad Chao, mixes raw production with unorthodox song structures. It was their highest charting record to date (entered Norway’s music chart at #12), and was voted Metal Album of the Year (over nominees like Dimmu Borgir) at Norway’s most prestigious music awards in January 2008.
Immortalised in Michael Moynihan’s Black Metal bible, Lords of Chaos, and having etched their name in metal folklore way back, Mayhem Ordo Ad Chao Tour 2008 is the unmissable tour for die-hard fans, metal novices and the rest of us simply curious to be in the presence of such a groundbreaking and infamous band, shrouded in darkness and tragedy but still standing, 24 years on.
