Woodfire Café was originally opened in Dee Why in 1984 as the Original woodfired pizza shop on the Northern Beaches under the name of Lucky & Pep’s. It was an iconic establishment for the locals and many loyal customers still remember it from those days. In the early nineties new owners changed the name to Lui’s Woodfired Pizzas. Still keeping the tradition of cooking in the 100% authentic wood fired oven. Today, owner Tony (since 1998) has kept the wood fired oven 100% fuelled by iron bark, giving the pizzas the best cooked taste and the true Italian authenticity to his menu including traditional favourites as well as gourmet delights. He has recently embarked on experimenting with the real Italian flavours of Pizzas by using extra thin pastry topped with minimal but very tasty toppings just like they enjoy only in the capital of Pizzas, Naples and other parts of Italy. This experience is best kept for dining in straight out of the hot oven but we will do it for pick up customers as long as you eat it straight away. A new introduction is the dessert pizzas. They are very popular in Brazil where they would always finish a pizza feast with this delicately sweet treat. Again, best when dining in. Not to forget the large array of pasta dishes cooked in traditional home style as well as great steak, veal and chicken dishes. Woodfire Café prides itself on using only top quality fresh ingredients and we are more than happy to change our dishes to suite individual taste.
