The newly opened Verge Cucina is a welcome addition to the local dining scene at The Peninsula. Located on the ground level of the Axis building and overlooking the lake, Verge Cucina is a contemporary restaurant, making for an ideal lunch spot to take in the lake vista during the day, while in the evening, the stunning city views are unbeatable. The restaurant serves dishes that are Mediterranean in origin, and in particular, regional Italian cooking which embraces the concept of using combinations of seasonal, local ingredients to create essentially simple and healthy food with a strong emphasis on taste. The kitchen rests in the capable hands of Ezio Teti who previously, together with his wife Gina, ran a popular restaurant in Dunsborough for nearly 6 years until late 2006. Together, Ezio and Gina endeavour to provide an all-round satisfying dining experience in a relaxed environment whether you feel like someone else doing the cooking for you - gravitating to the convenience of the restaurant at your doorstep - or if you should like to celebrate a special occasion. Verge Cucina is open for dinner from 5. 30pm Tuesday to Sunday, and will soon open regularly for lunch, and weekend breakfast when general demand increases. Meanwhile the restaurant opens for small lunch group bookings when requested. Take away food is available Tuesday to Sunday evening from both the take away and main menus.
