"Most people know mahjong as an ancient and popular Chinese pass-time. For us here at MahJong Room it is much more than a game. It invokes memories of Saturday afternoons spent with the extended family, the clicking of tiles against the happy chatter and laughter of children, and all this accompanied by steaming bowls of food.
Mahjong is a celebration of family, tradition and culture and the coming together of these essential ingredients in life over food. Our childhood, our upbringing and these family gatherings have inspired the guiding principles behind our restaurant. The many meals we cooked, shared and consumed in our youth represent the three elements we want to reflect in the space and food at MahJong Room. Simplicity. Honesty. Joy. "
