Internationally renowned rhythmic didgeridoo virtuoso Ganga Giri and his world electronic fusion band is set to launch an exciting new visual projection show on their ‘Get It Started’ Single Tour this May and June. The live visual projection show has been produced in conjunction with Australian / Serbian VJ and artist Meltstation and features footage captured by Ganga Giri on his travels deep into the heart of Australia and around the world. Having performed at festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Boom (Portugal), Sziget Festival (Hungary) Fusion Festival (Germany), Earthdance California, Joshua Tree Music Festival (USA), Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest (Canada), Woodford Folk Festival, Falls Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia) and Evolve Festival (New Zealand) amongst many others, Ganga Giri has spent the past eight years forging a new and unique sound across the globe. Ganga Giri plays with a pumping percussive style driven by his technique as a drummer, percussionist vocalist and producer. The Ganga Giri sound is a unique mix of dancehall, reggae, dub, electro, indigenous, fat bass, breaks and world flavours that comes together in an original energising experience to create an explosive dancefloor celebration. With a catalogue of six albums to their name, Ganga Giri’s latest album ‘Good Voodoo’ was produced by Andy Baldwin (The Cat Empire, Morcheeba) and released internationally in 2011. Featuring French Guyanian MC, singer Jornick Joelick, indigenous vocalists Gumaroy, Gnarnayarrahe Waitairie and Canadian musician Harry Manx, ‘Good Voodoo’ continues to expand the Ganga Giri international profile, with a remix of Good Voodoo from well respected electronic producer Gaudi (Trentmoller, Mazzy Star, Fat Boy Slim), recently featured on Canada’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ TV series. Fri 18 May marks the release of the Ganga Giri’s third single from the ‘Good Voodoo’ album with the radio remix of ‘Get It Started’. A more vocally driven song Get it Started features Ben Gillespie on trumpet by with Ganga Giri's signature didgeridoo sound coming through in highlighted moments. Get it Started is about celebration and getting people together to celebrate life through music. Spreading his word of one world one time one people, Ganga Giri has honed his artistic creation in many formats. Equally at home at a world blues folk or roots festival as well as the most pumping clubs and electronic music festivals abroad, the Ganga Giri band has a flexibility that can be as dynamic as a two piece sound system or a ten piece ensemble, including some of the finest indigenous singers and dancers.
