The inaugural Australian leg of All Tomorrow's Parties - curated by Nick Cave - will feature Spiritualized, a reformed The Saints and Robert Forster, it was announced this morning.

The first announcement for the festival - which takes place in January - also includes legendary experimental artists such as Silver Apples, Harmonia, Afrirampo and James Blood Ulmer. Michael Gira of canonized No-Wave group Swans will also appear, as well as local avant-jazz heavyweights The Necks.

Melbourne will see a two-day festival at the Mt Buller ski-resort with on-site accomodation, while Sydney will see two one-day festivals at Cockatoo Island, with both days featuring the same line-up.
In Brisbane, only four of the acts confirmed for other cities will appear at this stage, those artists being Nick Cave, Spiritualized, Robert Forster and James Blood Ulmer.
