Firstly I would like to so how shit the student rush tickets are in Sydney. When I was at drama skool we would be offered shitloads of special tickets. But now as a normal university student in our crock education system, I cant usually afford.

But Alas...I share good news.

I know they do pay what you can nights, but on Tuesdays and Sundays they offer students 25 dorra tickets.

(available Tuesday 6.30pm and Saturday 2pm performances only, from 10am on the day, subject to availability)

theatre is very expensive to produce. but I do agree that there's room for the prices to come down a way. there are a lot of productions playing to half full rooms, maybe if the average ticket price came down a few dollars it would do better. and yes, student tickets should be a lot cheaper. they should have $5 student tickets for empty seats 20 mins before last call.
