Heads up, Rikki Rockett: Wyclef Jean would like to ask that you please reconsider raping women, at least while you're in Haiti. In a U.N.-sponsored radio ad in his homeland, the former Fugee says, "If you love Wyclef, that means you love Haiti. So you should not be raping women, kidnapping people and children, because there can be no excuse for doing so. I reject these evil practices." The beleaguered nation, having already battled decades of political and social upheaval, has experienced a sharp rise in crime over the past few weeks, and the ad is part of a peacekeeping mission meant to counter the recent wave of kidnappings and gang-related activity. According to U.N. police spokesman Fred Blaise, Wyclef enjoys enormous respect from "the good guys as well as the bad guys," so they should "be receptive" to the message if it's coming from him. (Now if only he could work that same diplomatic magic on Lauryn Hill.)
