This was the most awesome gig I've seen in a long long time. Jon Cleary went off off off! Like a firework gyroscope. How does he play key board like that with only two hands? Drummer was equally as awe inspiring - accents were brilliant, tension created teasing to the multiple climaxes. Seeing was believing.

Hey Lisa COMPLETELY agree - best night ever.  Massive sounds from a 3 piece and an audio tour up and down Basin Street throughout the ages.

Trying to find out who supported him though......don't happen to know do you?  Girl singer - bluesy rockabilly country lowbrow magic with a full-on rhythm section :)  Actually reminded me a little of Paloma Faith  - anyone?

Jon Cleary put on a great show. Superb voice and attack on the piano. The support act was a revelation too. Lani Lane's first venture to Melbourne. She gave away a cd" What to I Do}. Not many takers though. 18 months later how things have changed. Her voice (same song) heard weekly on ABC Crownies.
