The Slayer concert in Brisbane last year, that concert was the highlight of the year :P
It was loud, extremely dangerous as I was at the front and was so close to Kerry King and Tom Araya then it almost made me cry so happily. It was sooo amazing, I'll never forget it. |

| KISS and it wasn't just the music that was loud it was the screaming and people stamping there feet on the granstands before they even started, I was worried the whole thing would fall down, but it was an excellent concert |

Fucking, Mogwai, at the metro when they toured for, Livid.
Obviously if your familiar with them you'd know its not really a relentless onslaught of sound but more that of slow building, post-rock stuff which dynamically over the period of their 10min + songs just becomes layers upon layers of sound and you start anticipating/hoping it will start receding or just plateau.
I had to leave, painfully loud, fingers in my ears weren't even helping. Ive never had to leave a gig before for that reason.

FANTOMAS at the Arena.
A mingled mix of hard beats, airy harmonies and smashing, alluring vocals.
In true Fantomas fashion they rocked it loud and tight.

Sunk Loto.
Watching these kids come through the ranks was something special.
The sound was that intense not even the butch pool junkies could beat the epic sound waves at a game of 8 ball.

| Rise Against in 2006. First ever proper concert... great crowd, rough moshpit, amazing music. Best atmosphere at a concert I have been to and a raw but polished performance. I couldnt walk or talk properly until 3 the next day. |

Honestly....? Dillinger.
The Waterloo, it must have been...2004.
Packed show, dark and full of atmosphere.
All that cold concrete soon heated up under the explosion of warming sound that was Dillinger.
There was so much energy in that room. The sound was crisp, tight and LOUD!
Glad i was standing at the back, it got messy up front... but was the loudest and most rememberable night at a gig of that capacity.
The sound reverberates off those Waterloo walls.
My ears were pinning for plugs but glad to hear the full spectrum of what Dillinger are capable of.
That ringing sound didn't escape me for at least 2 days, especially after listening to them the next day full ball on the mp3 player. |

Definitely the Geek Show Tour (Tomahawk, Melvins & Fantomas) ] @ Horden Pavillion, Sydney.
First was Fantomas and that was CRAZY loud, by far louder than anything I'd seen at the Horden before (even louder than the System of A Down & Amen concert!). But that was nothing compared to the brutal attack on the senses that the Melvin's unleashed, it was like the band took turns whacking my brain with a lead pipe (in stereo of course). It was almost a relief to have them leave the stage (never thought I'd say that about the Melvins!). Luckily (or unluckily, I'm still not sure, I'll wait till I'm an old man with ZERO hearing), Tomahawk finished it all of with yet another noise attack going, if they hadn't I doubt anybody there could have heard them over the post Fantomas and Melvins residual ringing noise :)
It was loud, it was awesome and when I go deaf at the age of 40 I'll have the Geek Show of 2003 to thank!

I have been seeing gigs since Festival Hall in the seventies, and WITHOUT a doubt, the most insistent and persistent INDUSTRIAL strength gig I have ever enjoyed (and endured) was Mike Patton and Merzbow's Maldoror tour, at a club ironically called, Van Gogh's Earlobe. It was relentless noisemaking by two musicians by way of some sort of rebirthing therapy, that left me thinking my inner ears were bleeding, literally. Only a handful of music goers were left standing in the premises, since it was possible to leave the premises, nay, walk two blocks away, and still enjoy the show. Merzbow in particular, seemed to be egging Patton on - this Japanese noise artist had a massive array of effects units, an enormous ceiling high PA stack, but no intrument(!), just feedback upon feedback going through effect upon effect... I hung in there, but to my shame, finally conceded defeat. Sometimes a man has to consider the consequences of art-induced deafness.. and walk away. |

WHEN KORN CAME TO PERTH THIS LAST APRIL
AND SPYDER FROM BIOHAZARD HUGGED ME INFRONT OF EVERYONE IN THE PIT.
AND THEN AFTER THE WHOLE SHOW HE SAW ME AGAIN AND LET ME GO BACKSTAGE AND WANTED TO TAKE HEAPS OF PICTURES, WHICH WE DID HAHA 8D. I GOT BOBBYS HAT (from Biohazard also) WHILE IN THE PIT and by choice gave it back to him personally which was awsome. MOST FUCKING AWSOME SHOW EVER. Front of the pit ALL night in a corset tightened to maximum tightness and my ribs on the verge of snapping. To make it even more awsome I met all of Korn the day before and they recognized me when they were playing, CAN'T HAVE MUCH MORE OF AN EXTREME CONCERT.

Probably the Prodigy at Two Tribes in Adelaide. That or Muse at the big day out. Snoop was pretty loud too, but our entertainment centre has crappy acoustics, so I could understand a word he was saying. |
