After blowing the roof off Brisbane in 2011, SPRUNG HIP HOP festival is back and bursting at the seams with the biggest line up of Aussie hip hop that the country has ever seen!
Moving to their new home at the RNA Showgrounds, this All Ages event is carrying some of the biggest guns around and on Saturday November 10 they’re coming out to fire….um, we mean PARTY!
The most explosive hip hop line-up to come to Brisbane since last year’s SPRUNG HIP HOP festival features ARIA Award winning, number one chart toppers HILLTOP HOODS alongside a stellar line-up that includes ILLY, PEZ, TZU, VENTS, KERSER, MANTRA, SPIT SYNDICATE, SETH SENTRY, THUNDAMENTALS, BIAS B, BRIGGS, THE TONGUE, EVIL EDDIE, MASE N MATTIC, BAM BAM, SEVEN, DEATHSTARRS, DWIZOFOZ and KUDOS.
They’ve smashed an unsuspecting Australia with their platinum album “Drinking From The Sun’ which debuted at #1 on the ARIA album charts, and now the unstoppable godfathers of Aussie hip hop, the Hilltop Hoods are ready to rock Brisbane like it’s never been rocked before. The Brisbane show of their current tour sold out in 24 hours. As the pioneers of Australian Hip Hop, no one else has even come close to crossing the musical borders of the Australian music scene like the Hilltop Hoods.
Joining the Hoods is ILLY with an all new lyrical assault that combines ripping up the stage and letting it hang out there for the ladies. He has become one of Australia’s most prominent hip hop acts. TZU is back! Joelistics and the boys’ new album will be released in August and will contain the brand new single ‘Beginning Of The End’ which incorporates the signature electronic sounds and incisive lyrics that have made them a mainstay of Australian live hip hop.
No one knows how to roll balls like VENTS. Since signing with Golden Era Records, Vents has gained a reputation as having an explosive live show full of raw power and bravado.
And love him or hate him, KERSER is here. He says what he wants and he does what he says. Never has an unsigned hip hop artist shot through the roof like Kerser. With over 54,000 facebook followers and rapidly climbing, his popularity is undisputed. His iconic rap battle vs 360 in 2011 has had more than 1.3 million youtube views. He will be releasing his brand new single later this year and Sprung Festival will be his only Brisbane show in support of this release.
The legendary BIAS B is ready to introduce a new generation to his raw power and stage presence. Out of retirement, this Australian Hip Hop pioneer will rip up SPRUNG 2012 in his only show. Regarded as one of Aussie Hip Hop’s pioneers, he started writing lyrics in 1989 and began performing in 1991
Joining them on two giant stages are MANTRA, SPIT SYNDICATE, SETH SENTRY, THE THUNDAMENTALS, BRIGGS and many more on a jam packed roster of 20 of Australia’s best Hip Hop artists.
Tickets are set at a low $77 (+ bf). Boldly bringing the price back to what people would have been paying for a ticket to a music festival in the 1990s.
