Newtown Festival 2012 @ Camperdown Memorial Park

Description:

The Newtown Festival, like the Newtown area itself, is renowned for its rich history of supporting local artists to go on and become international superstars, so come celebrate our live musical heritage at this year’s Newtown Festival on 11th November with a brilliant and diverse line-up of acts.

To pay homage to Newtown’s 150th birthday, all performers and artists chosen to be part of the 2012 Newtown Festival line up have a special connection with the area – they live in the area, started out in the area or have a unique attachment to the place.
Dance til you drop at the Federation Stage (Federation Road) to listen to: King Tide, The Crooked Fiddle Band, Kira Puru and The Bruise, The Rescue Ships, Kill City Creeps, Little Bastard.

Rock out at the Essential Stage (Lennox Street) to hear: Regular John, Bearhug, Collarbones, Caitlin Park, The Fabergettes, Tokyo Denmark Sweden, Battleships.

Plus, more bands and entertainers to be announced a little closer to the festival!

Newtown Festival is an important fundraiser for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, so we are asking everyone to please give a gold coin or note donation at the festival gates.
Since 1976 Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has provided vital services to our local community including: the aged, to people with disabilities, people with drug and alcohol addictions, people from Non English Speaking Backgrounds, the socially isolated and people on low incomes; acts as an information and referral service, providing advice on emergency accommodation and aid, aged and children’s services, council services as well as information on other Government and Non Government Services and Organisations.
