Future Entertainment and The Sound Campaign have joined forces once again with the Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix to deliver another two days of scorching trackside tunes and festival fun at the Sidetracked Music Festival in 2012.

Having rocked thousands of race and partygoers on circuit over the last four years, Sidetracked is bringing another stellar line up of sizzling live acts and DJs to this year’s Grand Prix. Headlining this year’s trackside festival is the pioneer of rap, hip-hop, and a Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Grandmaster Flash. ‘Flash’ joins some of Australia’s biggest bands and DJ’s including Art vs Science, The Potbelleez, The Stafford Brothers, Grant Smillie, Ruby Rose and many more to be announced!

Sidetracked combines the epic thrill and spectacle of Formula 1™ racing with the sheer excitement and colour of a summer music festival. Sidetracked is a unique event that brings you the heart-pumping best of both worlds.

For just a few dollars more than a General Admission ticket, Sidetracked gives Formula 1™ and music fans the ultimate entertainment experience: a hot spot to watch the world’s best drivers on track, and hear the cool sounds of summer from world-class bands and DJs. It’s an unforgettable all-day party in the fast lane!

Sidetracked will be moving to a bigger and better location in 2012 – outfield turn 6, close to Gate 5 and public transport.

Grandmaster Flash (USA)
There are a lot of stories about the birth of jazz and the beginning of rock n’ roll, but hip-hop has founding fathers: one of them is DJ Grandmaster Flash. He was the first DJ to physically lay his hands on the vinyl and manipulate it in a backward, forward or counter clockwise motion. He invented the Quick Mix Theory, which included techniques such as the double-back, back-door, back-spin, and phasing. Basically, what we call a DJ today is a role that Flash invented. The genius behind iconic party tunes like The Message, Superappin, Freedom and You Know What Time It Is, Flash is living legend in every sense of the title.

Art vs Science (AUS)
Literally ‘unearthed’ by Triple J back in 2008, eclectic and electric Sydney trio, Art vs. Science, have enjoyed a steady rise to prominence ever since. Comprising the talents of Jim Finn, Dan MacNamee and Dan Williams, this triple-threat of audacious Electro-Experimental boast a discography that includes a swag of alternative hits, including “Flippers”, Parlez Vous Francais?”, Friend In The Field” and “Magic Fountain”. With an AIR award for Best Independent Dance Act, three ARIA nominations and three tunes inducted into the iconic Triple J Hot 100 Countdown, the UK’s taste-making XFM show and blog named Art vs. Science as “one of the bands to watch in 2010” – how right they were. Stafford Brothers (AUS)
If there’s a bigger name in Australian House music than the Stafford Brothers right now, then, hey, we’d like to know about it! Featuring the talents of Queensland siblings Chris and Matt Stafford, this dynamic duo are an Aussie musical tour de force that’s well on the way to genuine global superstardom. Cutting their teeth in the far north’s bubbling club scene earlier this decade, it didn’t take long before “The Staffords” established themselves as special guests and headliners at the nation’s biggest and best dance venues, music festivals and clubbing special events. Renowned for their trademark big room House sounds, as DJs they’ve toured extensively throughout New Zealand, Canada, Brazil, Asia, Europe and the UK, and flown the flag for Australian EDM with sheer aplomb. Meanwhile, as producers, they’ve torn up dancefloors and charts with huge tunes like “Give Love”, “I Can See”, and “More Than A Feeling”. 2011 marked the start of an epic year for The Stafford Brothers as they got to make their very own reality TV show on Foxtel and took home the coveted #1 spot at the 2011 In the Mix Awards!


The Potbelleez (AUS)
When Rolling Stone’s Tim Duggan proclaimed The Potbelleez to be the fastest rising stars of the dance scene in 2007 he could not have foreseen how quickly this Sydney based dancefloor devastating live act would explode across the country. The Potbelleez first major single "Don't Hold Back" spent an incredible 17 weeks at 1 ARIA Dance Chart in 2008, selling Platinum in excess of 100,000 copies. This undisputed hands in the air anthem earned the band 3 ARIA nominations and was named "1 Most Played Australian Song on TV and Radio" in 2008. Amidst the excitement of their massive debut single the band managed to produce an exceptional follow up single ‘Are You With Me’ which hit the ground running as Australian radio’s 1 Most Added Song to national playlists. This track was an instant hit on the ARIA Charts peaking at 15 and going Gold with sales over 50,000. Their second album, Destination Now, released in 2011 boasted more huge singles for the Potbelleez including the smash hit, Hello.


Timmy Trumpet (AUS)
Timmy is the only DJ / Instrumentalist to make the ITM Top 10 DJ’s Australia wide, which has landed him residencies at clubs and festivals all over Australia as well as multiple worldwide tours, including performances at MIAMI’S WMC, IBIZA’S PACHA & LONDON’S MINISTRY OF SOUND. Winning ‘Young Musician of the Year’ at age 13, and touring the world playing Jazz at 14, Timmy is no stranger to the lime light. Now at 27, he has supported and played alongside acts like ARMIN VAN BUUREN, CARL COX, FEDDE LE GRAND, DIZZEE RASCAL, FATBOY SLIM and the STAFFORD BROTHERS just to name a few. In fact, many believe Timmy has taken the art of DJing to new heights and stamped his name as arguably one of world’s best DJ /Instrumentalists.

Ruby Rose (AUS)
Ruby Rose Langenheim landed her first gig in the public eye in 2007 as a VJ for MTV; a role which not only graced her with an ASTRA award for ‘favourite female’ but also the backing of an entire generation of young adults desperate for a role model that didn’t fit the mould, and definitely didn’t want to. She then appeared as a panellist on the Network Ten’s 7pm Project, Guest Judge and Co-host of the Australia’s Next Top Model Finale, before being given her own shows Ultimate School Musical and MTV STYLE. The fashion icon also turned fashion designer with a clothing line Milk&Honey and a soon to be released collaboration collection with street footwear brand Gallaz. As a DJ, Ruby rose plays at the hottest clubs, parties and festivals around the world. She’s taken her signature mixes to renowned LA club XIV, put it on wax with a compilation album with Grant Smillie that debuted at number ten on the ARIA charts. Grant Smillie (AUS)
Grant Smillie ticks all the boxes. Host of Australia’s biggest dance radio show ‘Novanation’ on the Nova network nationally, he also has collected 2 ARIA Awards with his dance outfit TV ROCK and is co-owner of Neon Records one of the most successful dance labels in the country. As one half of TV ROCK (alongside compatriot Ivan Gough) the duo broke all records in Australia- not only scooping 2 ARIA awards also spending the longest time inside the top 10 charts in history. He Co-wrote ‘Release Me’ for Zoe Badwi which spent 7 weeks in a row at #1 on the ARIA club charts. TV ROCK have also achieved 8 #1 ARIA club chart positions for their remixes and have remixed the likes of Groove Armada, Armand Van Helden, Dirty South Axwell, Fedde Le Grand and Paul Van Dyk to name but a few. TV ROCK’S recent single ‘Been A Long Time feat Rudy’ went straight to the #1 position on the ARIA club charts in Australia and was signed to Axwell’s label ‘Axtone’ where it smashed the beatport charts as well. TV ROCK’s new single called ‘Feel It In The Air’ which features the vocals again of Rudy spent 8 weeks at #1 on the ARIA club chart and peaked at #1 on the UK club chart as well!


Bombs Away (AUS)
Bombs Away are one of the hardest working acts in the club industry at the moment, One of the few acts to hold down 5 places on the ARIA Charts Concurrently, along with Top 10's on iTunes, Djdownload, Djtunes, and Beatport charts, as well as Swagger rocking National and Ministry of Sound radio, sitting at the 3rd most popular track of the current Ministry Album in iTunes Top 10. The duo composed of Thomas Hart (Vocals, Keyboard) & Sketch (DJ/Guitar/Vocals) are currently on their SWAGGER tour in the US, headlining massive shows all over the country.
