Description:
Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival returns to it’s home in the heart of the magnificent Glenworth Valley for three days of innovative festival magic from Monday 29 December 2008 through to Thursday 1 January 2009.
Peats Ridge remains one of the only festival events in Australia where audiences can combine watching extraordinary performances by both international and local musicians, interacting with a specially curated art and theatrical programme, swimming in beautiful water holes, riverside camping and being educated about sustainability all into the one experience.
“The owners of Glenworth Valley are implementing a massive upgrade of the site for this year’s Peats Ridge Festival. The upgrade will ensure the event will be able to withstand and proceed in heavy weather conditions similar to those experienced last year. Areas which will be targeted in the upgrade include accessibility to and around the site for vehicles as well as work on the drainage system around the Festival site and in the camp sites. Work will also be carried out to provide distinct areas where vehicle access will be improved and there will be implementation of car free camping in some areas of the venue”, said Matt Grant, Festival Director.
A bright ray of sunshine which helped to reinvigorate everyone at Festival headquarters for this year’s event was having Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival awarded the ‘2008 Green Globe Award for Environmental Sustainability’ by the NSW State Government in a ceremony at NSW Parliament House in February this year. This award recognises Peats Ridge Festival as being the leader in Environmental Sustainability across ALL industries in NSW and receiving this Award is a validation that the Festival has indeed become a key event, not only for those who have come to know, love and support it but also within the wider Australian community.
