Description:
How to get Rich, written and performed by Aleisha McCormack (Circle) and directed by Julia Zemiro (RockWiz) is a show about taking a risk for love.
Two years ago, after a chance meeting on Facebook and a four-month Skype based courtship; Aleisha took a chance - and a plane from Melbourne to London to meet a boy, Richard. But not having access to each other’s genitals gave them time to really get to know each other. After years of bad shags, dodgy blind dates and being dumped at the altar (5 years before) could she really have met ‘the one’ thanks to Mark Zuckerberg?”
For Sydney Fringe, Aleisha and Julia transform Sidetrack Theatre into the set of the plane that flew Aleisha across the other side of world where she hoped to snag the love of a guy that she’d never actually met. How many worse case ‘relationship scenarios’ can one girl conjure up during a 23-hour flight?
Aleisha approached her long time friend and seasoned performer Julia Zemiro to direct the show. When asked about How to get Rich, Julia said, “Leish came to me with a show about love. I know nothing about love so I relished the thought of doing some market research. But seriously, it was my first time directing a solo show - quite the responsibility. It’s such a great story and I’m so proud of Aleisha and the show we’ve put together.”
