The 2012 Kings Park Festival kicks off on the first day of Spring (1/9/12) celebrating 'Wildflowers in Focus', as Western Australia’s spectacular showcase of wildflowers leap into bloom. The Kings Park Festival is a long-running Western Australian tradition that celebrates spring and the wonderful wildflowers that appear throughout the south west of Western Australia during this time.From its humble beginnings as a five day event in 1965, depicting plant specimens in jars on trestle tables, the festival has blossomed into a modern format of floral displays, live music, exhibitions, workshops, interpretive artworks, guided walks and family activities during the entire month of September.
