A new season of Cinema on the Park, and an exciting Korean Film Poster exhibition comes to Sydney!
The Korean Cultural Office has just announced its program for the new season of Cinema on the Park (July 19 - Dec 22). Providing a diverse range of Korean cinema, this free weekly event is perfect for both the average movie-goer and the seasoned cinephile. With special guests and tasty snacks, embrace your connection to Korean cinema right in the heart of Sydney!
22 weeks of screenings will take place from July through to December, which includes 8 Australian Premieres, 10 film forums and 4 cultural performances. Taste a different snack each week (provided free!) or chat with other cinema club attendees, the night is a relaxing evening that is accessible to all as the films include English subtitles. Screenings take place at the Korean Cultural Office, directly opposite Hyde Park, every Thursday night from 6:30pm. Free entry, bookings essential.
The new season will open in conjunction with a Korean Film Poster exhibition (July 19 - Aug 17) that’s coming to Sydney. This exciting and unique exhibition will feature interactive installations, an animation screening room, a magazine corner and a history of the Korean Film Festival in Australia. It’s a perfect entry piece to begin your connection, the exhibition is free for all to attend and is held at the Korean Cultural Office.
With free weekly screenings and an exciting exhibition, not to mention the rapidly approach KOFFIA Korean Film Festival (Aug 22-28 Sydney, Sept 8-12 Melbourne, Sept 27-30 Brisbane), there has never been a better time for Australians to give Korean cinema a try!
